"As art professionals, we crave the possibilities to make ourselves understood to the other through art. However, we are actually negligent to communicate on art with the closest ones who have observed our lives in the longest term: our parents. We often get easily forgetful about our finite time together. Whenever we face the news that a friend’s father is terminally ill or another friend in tears confesses that the mother is struggling in her sickbed, there comes a lucid instance when we notice the fear that our time with the parents won’t be eternal. This leads us to the awareness, that the chances for us to discuss art with each other will be gone forever at some point, possible soon. We, who have been eager to discuss with the other or the community about our time, history, art, and life, start here to engage our parents – the ones who we often deliberately set aside till now – to converse about art together."

"예술가의 부모는 예술로써 소통하려는 자식들의 시도를 어떻게 받아들일 것인가? 자식이 하고 있는 일의 내밀한세계에 대한 이야기에 어떻게 반응할까? 거창한 예술담론이 펼쳐질 것이라 생각한 우리들이 아니지만 우리의 삶의 기원자들과 인생과 예술의 지향점에 대하여 성실하고 정직한 대화를 시작하고자 한다.
이 프로젝트는 이소영, 구민자, 박형지, 이성 휘가 각자의 부모들과 예술로써의 관계맺음 방식에 따라서 네가지 개별프로젝트를 진행하고 그 작업과정 및 결과를 전시로 구성했다. 각각의 프로젝트에서 부모들은 역할 및 작업 진행방식에 따라 예술가로서, 협업자로서, 또는 미술재단의 이사장으로서 참여해 예술가인 자식들과 프로젝트를 함께 만들었다."
